First we are introduced to the Ugly, Tuco (Eli Wallach), who leaps through a window after killing the men who were out to get him. Desde los créditos iniciales, presentimos que algo importante vamos a encontrar en esta excelente obra del cine. Y no es para menos ya que su banda sonora es realmente magistral e inolvidable, pasando incluso por bellas melodías románticas; una dirección y fotografía magistral, escenas de humor muy bien logradas, una historia y guión que se apartan de conceptos definitivos como es ser bueno o malo y se ubica en términos medios, ya que lo bueno también tiene algo de malo y viceversa; también nos confronta con nuestros mas bajos instintos como lo es la ambición y además esa guerra sin sentido. Envueltos entre el polvo, el sudor, la sangre y el miedo: Eli Wallach, Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef nos ofrecen actuaciones memorables.
