Mucho se criticó al reboot de Cazafantasmas (yo pienso que la unica razón fue por puro machismo, y soy hombre) y sin embargo, al ver esta película con todas las ganas del mundo en el cine (soy coleccionista y fan de los Cazafantasmas) y salí con una sensación de... enserio han hecho esto con la película? Me divertí más y tenía un argumento más original (salvo alguna escena un poco ridícula), el reboot (que si se toma como un producto aparte o una parodia, es realmente buena) que esta tercera parte "oficial" aburrida, ñoña y sin ningún tipo de ambición.
El problema principal, es básicamente el argumento, vamos a la zona spoilers:
En resumen una película olvidable, con algún momento memorable, pero que considero que la crítica la ha ensalzado y engrosado sin ningún tipo de criterio. Para pasar el rato y poco más, ya que encima es tremendamente aburrida.

El problema es el mismo que con la 7ª de Star wars: que es una copia argumental de la primera película.
En Cazafantasmas: Afterlife, han hecho "copia y pega" del mismo guión de la 1ª película, un poco adaptado a los tiempos que corren, tramas más rápidas y "correctas" y para un público mucho más infantil, a lo stranger things, lo cual obliga a que los protagonistas sean niños y evitando todo tipo de chistes o bromas adultas de las que funcionaban tan bien en las primeras dos películas.
Además, han destruido completamente la idea original de los Cazafantasmas, que era que en la sociedad del futuro, por todo el planeta existían organizaciones de cazafantasmas, un poco a lo "men in black" y en esta película están diciendo, que una vez se terminaron los eventos de la segunda película, todo el mundo los olvida y nadie más sigue con ese trabajo.
Miedo me dan las sagas en las que sus películas más nuevas empiezan a dar protagonismo a "el nieto de", "los hijos de", etc, véase Jungla de cristal, Indiana Jones, etc.
En el tema argumental, muy poco original: ni siquiera han tenido la molestia de inventar nuevos fantasmas o "malos finales", todos basados en la 1º película y "resucitados" si es que se puede decir eso de unos fantasmas, con un argumento que todavía a día de hoy no entiendo. ¿qué motivación tenía el tío de la urna? ¿cómo lo hizo? ¿Cuándo? ¿Cómo consiguió los medios para hacerlo? ¿Enserio a nadie del pueblo se le ocurre ir al epicentro de los temblores nunca, que misteriosamente están en una mina abandonada extremadamente sospechosa y ver lo que está pasando?
También está la subtrama que no aporta absolutamente nada y ni siquiera se resuelve del amorío del coprotagonista, que solo han puesto allí porque es una cara conocida de stranger things y poco más, porque no sirve para nada durante toda la trama, además de las dotes "interpretativas" de ese actor, que enserio, no se qué le ven.
Luego está el tema de Egon, que en sí, el homenaje está brillantemente incluido en el final de la película, pero si pretendían darle misterio a quién era ese fantasma y quién era la chica protagonista... lo intuyes desde el primer minuto de película.
