Film noir. Mystery
Singing star Mavis Marlowe is murdered just after receiving a heart shaped ruby brooch. Before Kirk Bennett, who discovers the body, can call the police, the brooch is taken by someone he can't see, and he flees in panic. Of course, circumstantial evidence ensures Bennett's conviction. Me ha gustado mucho. De ese director he visto otras dos películas, y todas ellas, las dos y esta, son de 1946. Las tres últimas que rodó.
Es estupenda, tiene todo: ritmo, dedicación, firmeza, toda una trama y alguna sorpresa. Interesante cómo lleva Duryea el peso de la cinta. Siempre le he tenido por un secundario magistral, sobre todo en las típicas de Lang, pero soporta bien la púrpura del poder
