La belleza es la protagonista absoluta de esta película. Contemplativa y serena, Malick nos cuenta la triste historia de amor entre un soldado de la corona británica y una india de manera cadenciosa y preciosista.
Si en el cine existe algo equivalente a la poesía, éste es un buen ejemplo. Reflexión y emoción en una cinta conmovedora, tranquila y visualmente espectacular.
