La película gira entorno a una premisa inicial muy potente que es respetada en todo momento. Sin duda, una de las mejores películas de ciencia ficción que he visto últimamente. Juega con la imaginación y la especulación temporal de una manera sorprendente, sin temer a aventurarse en todo momento.

Quizás el mayor problema de la pelicula sea la trama interna de los protagonistas. Personajes planos y estereotipados de una calidad actoral dudosa. No obstante, es este punto precisamente el que de algún modo te permite empatizar más con los protagonistas y su situación.
La historia presenta un mensaje esperanzador para la humanidad, ya que se entiende que es capaz de sobreponerse a la extinción y colonizar el sistema solar. Al menos, Marte.
El mayor logro del filme es que empieza aparentando ser un viaje en el tiempo breve, de unos 40-50 años, al menos según los datos iniciales. Pero esto no es así, poco a poco va profundizando en su premisa. Una cueva que paraliza el tiempo y que posee en su interior una fuente que devuelve al cuerpo humano a su homeostasis natural del presente. Sin duda, es una premisa ambiciosa para los amantes de la ciencia ficción, y en realidad no se moja demasiado en plantear el futuro de la humanidad. Pero, lo que sí hace es atreverse a mantenerse en un terreno relativamente realista .Tal vez otro problema que tiene es el final feliz. Sientes ganas de entrar en la cueva, aunque sea para comprobar como será el futuro de la humanidad. Y, en mi opinión, el paso del tiempo debe ser visto como algo terrible. Aunque por momentos sí se siente esta sensación. El simple hecho de que en unos miles de años solo seremos fósiles enterrados bajo un pilar de escombros. Pero el sistema solar y la tierra seguirán. El tiempo seguirá. Inmutable. Al menos, hasta la muerte del sol, dentro de unos 5000 millones de años. Y, en efecto, esta película, a pesar de ese toque final optimista, sí transmite la sobrecogedora fuerza imparable del tiempo y lo perturbador que es especular con él y la humanidad.
