Una magnífica adaptación del original de León Tolstoi, dónde Greta Garbo luce de forma espléndida. La historia de Ana Karenina es una historia universal: la de una mujer que tras romper las reglas sociales, morales y de su entorno se ve abocada a una injusta soledad, desamparo, tristeza (un papel que ni pintado para la Garbo). Es la tragedia del ser humano que si transgrede cae derrotado y si permanece cae en la más simplista ambigüedad y hastío. En ambos lados, el desamparo, no obstante, y todo por el maldito/bendito amor o como queramos llamarlo.
