Una de las superproducciones que hiciese Samuel Bronston en España, aquí dirigida por Hathaway y con un reparto estelar, a pesar de la decadencia de Rita Hayworth.
Centrada en el mundo del circo y aún poseyendo un barniz de absoluto topicismo y clichés, la película es más que digna, un melodrama muy entretenido y bien desarrollado para preparar al público del drama y la tristeza inicial al inevitable final feliz del desenlace.
