- Synopsis
- Heidi is a little orphan girl who is taken by her aunt to live with her grandfather, who lives in a secluded cabin in the Alps. At first the old man is surly and unfriendly, but the sweetness of the small girl soon softens him. Heidi also befriends a shepherd boy, Peter, who climbs mountains to graze the goats. Heidi’s life is peaceful and happy, until her aunt comes back to take her to the big city of Frankfurt, to the wealthy Mr. Sesemann home, to take care of his daughter Clara, an invalid and lonely girl. Heidi’s life is radically transformed, she suffers and misses her grandfather, but she befriends Clara encouraging the girl to walk unassisted for the first time in years. But the only thing that Heidi wants is to return to the Alps with her grandfather.
