- Synopsis
- The action is set in the first half of the 17th Century. Galileo is focused on his favorite studies, while in his house one of his servant tries to seduce his daughter: the servant, refused, denounces his master to the Holy Office. Galileo’s house is searched, his writings are taken away, his daughter is arrested and then confined in a convent. The court of the Inquisition considers the writings of Galileo against the principles of the Church: it decrees to burn them and forces the scientist to repudiate his theories. In the last scene Galileo, blind, surrounded by few devoted friends, is dying in the arms of his daughter, who has been allowed to rush and hug him for the last time.
