Drama. Fantasy. Mystery
Zach Riley (Aaron Eckhart), a well-educated psychiatrist, leaves an academic career to work at an institution where his father (Nick Nolte), a novelist, lived before writing a renowned children's book. Acclimating to his position, he encounters a schizophrenic (Ian McKellen) and a childhood friend (Brittany Murphy) who helps him to discover the book's secrets and his place in the story.

Película que va más allá de lo usual: magia y rebeldía, poder y misticismo configuran una historia que cuenta a su vez otra historia de encierro, persecución, esperanza y muerte que se puede interpretar como un ataque (o varios al mismo tiempo) contra la sociedad carcelaria y sus guardianes...
