Mary Shelley retrata un fragmento de la vida de la autora de Frankestein, una mujer criada bajo una educación liberal y crítica, muy adelantada para su época, que deberá hacerse hueco en un mundo de hombres en pleno siglo XVIII. La cinta apuntaba maneras, sin embargo se queda en eso.
