Historia filmada con la maravillosa subjetividad de Luc Besson. Sin esa subjetividad este film quizá podría haber sido firmado por el National Geographic.
Gracias a Luc Besson nos podemos sumergir en una historia que es contada fundamentalmente a través de unas imágenes perfectamente fusionadas con las actitudes e interpretaciones de sus personajes, que buscan y dosifican el oxígeno tanto fuera, como dentro del Gran Azul. Una historia humana de competición deportiva y también de lucha por la vida. En mi opinión una historia maravillosamente contada.
