Cometas en el cielo es una película intrascendente con una historia de lo más inverosímil. Una bonita fotografía y banda sonora junto con una pizca de crítica política no son suficientes para compensarla. Hay algunas escenas que por su crudeza revelan por sí solas la brutalidad de los comunistas y los talibanes, pero personajes muy estereotipados le acaban restando impacto.
Para película sobre verdadera amistad entre niños ambientada en un país no occidental recomiendo Promises, de B.Z. Goldberg.
