Documentary
The story starts in june 1994 with the disturbing disappearance of Nicholas Barclay, a 13 year-old boy from Texas. Three-and-a-half years later news of the case comes in: the boy has been found in Spain and claims to have survived the tortures of a group of enigmatic kidnappers. His family is delighted to have him home, but everything becomes even more bizarre once back in Texas. How can the Barclay's former blond kid now have dark hair? Who is this person? [+]

Documental entretenido, manipulador como su protagonista y personalmente nada aterrador, ni impactante ya que el director sesga la información y nos lleva por donde quiere llevarnos, no mojándose para nada con el personaje principal (nos cuenta una breve, brevisima historieta de su infancia para justificar su comportamiento) y se centra mas en que su protagonista, como un azar bien calculado, pudiera haber descubierto una trama criminal.
Eché de menos no solo el pasado de Bourdin, absolutamente necesario para darle perspectiva a la historia, si no que creo que le falta al menos 15/20 minutos de metraje para al menos contar algo de lo que yo voy a contar en el spoiler.

Después de ver el documental busque información de Bourdin en internet, ya que al director no le dio la gana de explicarnos nada de el, no sea que fuera el pobrecito a quedar como lo que es, un enfermo mental sin escrúpulos y quitara fuerza al golpe efectista de que Nicolas pudiera haber sido asesinado.
Personalmente si creo que Nicolas pudo haber sido asesinado por su familia, o quizás victima de algún evento violento que se fuera de las manos, pero mi opinión no me nubla el sentido tanto como para que el director me la cuele.
Queda claro que la actitud de la familia, de todo menos tranquilos ( policía en el domicilio 2/3 veces al mes visitando el domicilio por disputas) es bastante sospechosa y que la madre cuando dice que su hijo Jason era casi un bendito, nos revela el tipo de madre indulgente y de espíritu débil que acaba sucumbiendo a un hijo drogadicto y algo violento y que según un testimonio, incluso se droga con el.
BOURDIN
Si os gusto el documental os insto a que busquéis información adicional. Bourdin esta en la lista de famosos impostores MUNDIALES. Es un viejo conocido de la Interpol.
Lo que me chirriaba profundamente durante el documental era esa pose de niño abandonado, pero...como hablas tan bien ingles? Ya se que seguro que en Francia sepan mas ingles que nosotros, pero es que este señor lo hablaba muy muy bien, nada propio de niños con ese perfil que nos quiere colar. .
En verdad no sabremos mucho de el porque como es un mentiroso compulsivo, sera complicado.
Información adicional dice que como su madre no le hacia caso ya de muy pequeño se perdía por las calles hasta que alguien lo recogía y se compadecía de el. Se ve que le cogió el gustillo e hizo de aquello una forma de vida, pero a niveles escandalosos.
Empezó a ir de un centro de acogida a otro ( nadie explica porque supuestamente le quitaron la custodia a la madre) y ese peregrinaje se le acabo cuando cumplió 18 años.
No obstante, el no iba a ceder ante sus pretensiones de, siempre según su versión, ser tratado amorosamente.Una obsesión patológica llevada al extremo, adoptando decena de perfiles falsos.
Relato que choca frontalmente cuando le caen 6 años de cárcel por la suplantación de Nicolas y desde la cárcel se dedica a llamar a familias que tienen hijos desaparecidos para decirles que el sabe donde están. Se puede ser mas cruel? Buscas amor pero a la vez dañas a personas que han perdido a sus seres queridos?
Asimismo, después de lo de Nicolas, intento en al menos un par de ocasiones mas, y siendo ya un adulto talludito, suplantar la identidad de niños de 14 años.Si le funciono una vez, porque no volverlo a intentar ?
Otra vez esta actitud sorprende después de verle hablar con esa aparente normalidad en el documental.
Pues de normal no hay nada, solo que controla de manera férrea su entorno y que esta desconectado de la realidad, porque hijo, con 30 años o mas, querer colar que tienes 14 denota un narcisismo enfermizo.
Todo muy normal vamos. El hecho de que el director quiera que nos encandilemos como parece que el hizo con Bourdin, no significa que lo vaya a conseguir. Al menos conmigo no.
Respecto a Nicolas,le dedican demasiado poco tiempo, dejándolo como un niño muy conflictivo. Buscamos otra vez el sensacionalismo, priorizando a Bourdin con un perfil convincente, como si ahora hablar con propiedad fuera sinónimo de algo. Bourdin es un tipo excepcionalmente inteligente y carente de empatia, y con un divertido nivel de cobardia reflejado cuando acuso a la familia de asesinato.
Siento una profundisima aversion por flims y documentales que intentan venderme los trastornos mentales con cierta normalidad. Menos mal que hay al final de la cinta un pequeño ejercicio de sinceridad y Bourdin dice, claramente, que a el solo le importa una cosa: El mismo.
Pd. Me encanto el detective, un personaje inesperado y carismático, que hace que le ponga un 6 a la cinta.
