Western. Adventure
After finding a vital pass through the Canadian Rockies for the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Tom Andrews (Randolph Scott) tells his boss Cornelius Van Horne (Robert Barrat) that he is resigning to marry the girl he loves, Cecille Gautier (Nancy Olson.) Entretenida película del oeste, algo diferente. Alrededor del ferrocarril, y su construcción a través de las Montañas Rocosas en el Canadá se organiza esta cinta. Con el siempre en su papel Randolph Scott, con una chica del cine de toda la vida Jane Wyatt, y con la muy peculiar Nancy Olson, la siempre vivaz mujer con cara de niña en El crepúsculo de los Dioses.
El director es uno de esos grandes artesanos que fueron pacaes de transitar el mudo al sonoro sin que su genio se diluyese, antes al contrario. Aprendieron en el ruido y luego, más tarde, inventaron el silencio. 43 películas dirigió desde 1931 hasta su muerte en 1951.
Es una mas del oeste, pero es interesante y tiene un visionado.

La trama es sencilla, un explorador que ha sabido trazar el camino por el que debe transitar el tren se ve involucrado en la necesidad de evitar que los indios tumben el proyecto.
Los lugareños dudan en si el proyecto del ferrocarril les perjudicará o beneficiará.
La pareja Scott y Olson no funciona muy bien, la diferencia de edad es tan evidente que parece su padre. La trama entretiene y se deja ver, aunque quizá sobre algo de metraje. Ochenta minutos hubieran sido suficientes, los noventa y cinco que duran parecen muchos.
