Larga y lenta pero veraz y además ocupa partes policiacos y de la corte auténticas. Mi versión preferida sobre el caso Manson.

Una obra espeluznante tanto por los cobardes crímenes y la lastimosa hibristofilia de las jóvenes que los apoyaron y defendieron en el rancho Spahn, como por la vergonzosa indulgencia del sistema judicial que suavizó el castigo a Manson y "la Familia". A la libertad condicional debido a la derogación de la pena de muerte que seguía a la sentencia dictada a los culpables. Casi año y medio de juicios, juzgados, cambios de juez y todo para condenar y sentenciar y en todo caso, al final, abolir la pena capital de unos locos que si no hubieran sido detenidos por prender fuego a un máquina para remover la tierra, habría asesinado a todos sus vecinos por amor al credo de Manson. Ridículo. En la hermandad de maníacos del rancho Spahn había desde mujeres con niños en brazos, fugitivos de hospitales psiquiátricos, motociclistas y toda clase de hippies adorándolo como borregos, obedeciéndolo -como fanáticos políticos hoy- y abrazando las ideas e ideales de una líder enfermo cree mentalmente en Jesucristo y repite en la corte que ni la mitad de los presentes son mejores personas que él, pero los amenaza de muerte, incluido el juez y los abogados, y enriqueció su catecismo del álbum blanco de The Beatles y los más dogmas retorcidos y siniestros para plantear una lucha de la raza negra aplastando a la blanca a través de lo que llamó Helter Skelter. Como en un documental completo, la obra ocupa las declaraciones auténticas realizadas durante las sesiones judiciales, por lo que es natural que la obra sea larga, debido a las minuciosas investigaciones y al grado de veracidad de los hechos. Para mí, la mejor versión del caso Charles Manson.
