El tema son las pasiones amorosas y la pasión por el poder. Se sitúa a principios del siglo XVIII. Inglaterra está en guerra contra Francia.
Una película bien hecha, de forma demás original y que consigue interesar y entretener.
Destacaría una buena interpretación y una buena dirección artística.
