Cuenta con una animación y unos escenarios muy propios de Osamu Tezuka, que hace una delicia para los ojos; sin embargo, es muy poco acertado darle el título de "Buda: El gran viaje", cuando realmente está narrando parte de la vida de Siddhartha antes de ser "el iluminado".
