Demasiada importancia a la cocina, al placer de los sentidos, al lujo, incluso al nacionalismo francés, todo caricaturizado en estereotipos predecibles.
Pero convence su dirección de arte, la cámara perseguidora, testigo de la diversidad de planos vertiginosos.
Entretenida, estimula la imaginación del paladar y dan ganas de atreverse a la creatividad de experimentar con algunos platos...

La respuesta a la pregunta de nuestro título es: los que son como "ratas", metafóricamente los que simbolizan a los que son ninguneados en la cocina, humillados, maltratados como esclavos en medio de la competitividad, como aparece personificado en aquel "lavaplatos". Esos despreciados, los que están detrás de los que reciben injustamente los premios y aplausos, son los verdaderos talentosos, los que merecen en Justicia algún día tener un reconocimiento, sea público o privado.
La ridiculización del personaje que hace de crítico gastronómico, que convierte su ego en un humilde niño, gracias a la imaginación que le produjo el sabor que le llevó a recordar su propia infancia cuando su madre le sirvió un simple plato, bien cocinado claro está, pero sobre todo con cariño. Es decir: cuando el comer se disfruta como una "experiencia compleja que le da sentido" a los que comparten el pan y el vino, incluso a partir de lo que es aparentemente simple y sencillo...
Y el feminismo extremo de la sub-jefa chef, agresiva, se convierte en una enamorada, la única del equipo humano de aquel restorán de lujo que al final, con humildad, valora la cooperación de la familia de las ratitas. Ese es el premio más grande.
