- True story of Elizabeth Kenny, a young nurse in the Australian outback who, witnessing patients with polio, determined to come up with a treatment for the disease. She did but, because the cure was unorthodox, Kenny faced steadfast opposition from the medical community. In the process, her marriage suffered, but the maverick nurse succeeded in her mission when she became the founder of the Kenny Institute at the University of Minnesota.
