Synopsis: The story takes place in the Zone of the Enders universe in 2173. Humanity searches for the resource Metatron on Mars and the moons of Jupiter, but Earth exerts oppressive control over the colonists, called "Enders". Seventeen-year-old Cage Midwell boards the ship "Bonaparte III" and meets Myona Alderan. After an attack, they flee to Mars and are accused of the accident. They are rescued by BIS, an anti-terrestrial faction, and Cage becomes involved in the conflict between Earth and Mars.
