Synopsis: This documentary is the portrait of a man, a painter who has spent his whole life in resistance. We visit his studio where the cries of the 20th century echo and explore a rich body of work that amounts to a unique testimony to our recent history. Boris Taslitzky painted every event he experienced during the century: secretary general of the Association of Painters and Sculptors of the Cultural Center (against Fascism), a friend of poet and militant communist Louis Aragon, Boris was involved in the French populist movements of the 30's.
During World War II, he joined the French Resistance. Arrested, he was incarcerated in five French camps before being deported to Buchenwald (from which he returned with 200 drawings and 5 watercolors).
After the war, he continued his career as a painter, open to others, creating paintings on events in Algeria, Chile, Lebanon... Boris is still painting. He is now 93.
