Synopsis
With 200,000 feet of footage, the film covers the Olympic preparatory process, beginning with July 2001, soon after Beijing won the right to host the Olympics. It presents the design, appraisal and construction of the main Olympic stadium, nicknamed the "Bird's Nest" because of its unique steel structure, and tells the story of an ordinary family in the Olympic central area, hurdler Liu Xiang, a group of young Chinese female gymnasts, a squad of specialized policemen and many others, giving an overall picture of how the Chinese people are doing their best to offer the world a well-prepared Olympics in 2008.
