- Technological progress today is allowing mankind to conceive of a radically 'improved' human being, a 'Human version 2.0', modeling his own species according to his wishes. In laboratories all over the world, a new kind of individual, partially re-engineered, is not only in the process of being dreamed up and tested, but manufactured. Some scientists are betting that Homo Sapiens (that is to say, us!) will soon be considered a charming but outdated version of mankind. It is time, they say, to upgrade to Homo Technologicus.
