- Synopsis
- Bunuel brings his fresh and inventive eye to this impish drama which focuses on a beautiful woman whose overt sexuality causes havoc among a group of men -- revealing the weaknesses in their moral fiber. The gorgeous Susana has sinned, and as punishment, remains locked in a reformatory. Unaccountably terrified by the school's surroundings, she beseeches God for help. And God does appear to come to her aid, for when Susana tries to pry open the bars of her cell, they easily bend. After escaping, Susana finds shelter at the home of a fairly well-to-do family, where she proceeds to seduce every male on the premises...and soon they are all at each other's throats.
