Synopsis
Gente di Roma (The People of Rome) is the great Italian director Ettore Scola's ode to the diverse aggregation of humanity living in today's Rome. It has been described as "a bittersweet tribute to a metropolis capable of sheltering all those who were born in the city as well as those who have chosen it as their adopted home." Featuring a stunning jazz score by composer Armando Trovajoli, Gente di Roma eschews the city's famous monuments and palaces to illuminate the day-to-day life of its humblest inhabitants.
