- Sarah Connor, the single mother of the rebel John Connor, is committed to a psychiatric hospital. A few years earlier, a time traveler had revealed to her that her son would be the savior of humanity in a future—the year 2029—dominated by machines. She then became a sort of warrior and trained her son John in survival tactics. This is why she is confined to a mental institution. When a new, upgraded android—a T-1000—arrives from the future to assassinate John, an older T-800 model is sent to protect him.
