Synopsis

Buddy cops Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and his partner Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) are assigned to protect a witness, Leo Getz (Joe Pesci), who soon tells them he has done business with the same South African smugglers Murtaugh and Riggs have been investigating on their own time. Though they were assigned to protect this man to keep them out of trouble, the partners soon find themselves up to their ears in action as they set on the chase.
