Synopsis

Petrita López (Gracita Morales) is a simple village girl who goes to Madrid after hearing the siren songs of Adela (Vicky Lagos), her friend from the village, whom she notices has changed a lot, a real "lady", since she is doing very well in the big city. She even has an engineer suitor, but very indecisive (José Luis López Vázquez). In the capital, Petrita will also have a suitor, Javier (Antonio Ozores), a nice guy from her town who has to do his military service. As her friend Adela progresses rapidly, Petrita fills the positions she leaves vacant: maid, "cafetera", "alternanta"... but she does not do as well as her countrywoman.
