Variety
"[2nd Season Review, 2018]: A far more satisfying season than its last effort in 2016 (...) Even when stripped down to its bare bones, 'The X-Files' has plenty to offer its audience"
United States
The New York Times
"[2nd Season Review, 2018]: 'The X-Files' still produces excellent stand-alone TV episodes (...) Intelligent, stylish and always graced by the wonderful performances of Ms. Anderson and Mr. Duchovny."
United States
AV Club
"[2nd Season Review, 2018]: The season 11 premiere is, at the very least, a bit better than it might have been (...) It’s all a bit of nonsense, but the direction isn’t bad."
United States
IndieWire
"[2nd Season Review, 2018]: Genuinely exciting (...) A lively, character-focused affair that feels far more unified than we’d ever anticipated, a massive improvement over Season 10"
United States
Vulture
"[2nd Season Review, 2018]: Sublime (...) If you’re a fan of this series, I can’t imagine watching the new season and finding nothing to enjoy. It’s a pleasant, clever, and sometimes inspired reunion with old friends"

SFGATE
"[3 Ep. Review]: The three episodes represent what was good and maybe not so good about the original series. They also remind us that, somehow, even when Carter and company went off the rails, “The X-Files” was usually worth watching."
United States
Variety
"The scattered version of 'The X-Files' viewers got this year had little vision, less grasp of subtlety and only small scraps of coherence. Almost everything that could go wrong with this reboot did go wrong."
United States
The Washington Post
"[3 Ep. Review]: After a skittery and slightly tedious start (...) 'The X-Files' settles in and starts to relocate some of its creepy vibe and playfulness."
United States
USA Today
"[3 Ep. Review]: At a minimum, wait until the second episode (...) Things do get better (...) But “better” is not “good”--and nothing shakes the depressing sense that time has passed the series and the characters by."
United States
Entertainment Weekly
"[3 Ep. Review]: Never better, never worse. We've seen three episodes. One is a masterpiece. One is the opposite."

"[3 Ep. Review]: If the first episode left me disappointed, the next two made me hope that this six-episode experiment works well enough to justify more. They’re that good."
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"[Pilot Review]: A very underwhelming hour that will force even diehard fans (and yes, I was one of them) to consider whether pushing onward is really worth the time"
United States
Variety
"[Pilot Review]: It’s as if creator Chris Carter and his collaborators have forgotten what people liked about the show (...) 'The X-Files' can’t help but feel like a missed opportunity."
United States
IndieWire
"[Pilot Review]: After just one episode of the upcoming six, 'The X-Files' feels like a faded relic, barely clinging to what once made it great."
United Kingdom
Digital Spy
"[Pilot Review]: There's every chance 'The X-Files's' comeback run will improve (...) But this clumsy first episode leads you to wonder whether (...) there's room for a show which feels like little more than a beloved relic."
