What?

German Film Academy Awards are given to the best German films of the year. These awards exist since 1951, when an independent commission was handed the task of giving the awards. Since 2005, they are given by the German Academy.

When?

Every June.

Facts:

The award takes its name from Marlene Dietrich's character in "The Blue Angel" as well as Rainer Werner Fassbinder's movie "Lola".
