- Synopsis
- "Katharina die Letzte" is the work of Hermann Kosterlitz, who later became very well known in Hollywood under the name of Henry Koster. This film is a very fine example of his early work in Austria. The story concerns a young upper-class guy (Hans Holt) who wants to marry an equally upper-class lady. Her father objects, though, and so he befriends a lowly servant (Franziska Gaal) of the girl's family in order to contact his fiancee. But as these things go, the illiterate servant girl proves to be the real thing...
