The year 1942, during World War II. When Japanese troops besiege Singapore, a group of women of different nationalities are evacuated by boat to the United States. During the voyage, the ship is attacked by Japanese aircraft and is shipwrecked off the coast of Sumatra. The women are captured and sent to a concentration camp in the middle of the jungle.
