El Páramo: totalmente recomendable. Me ha encantado.
Lejos de ser un simple producto para dar sustos, explora el mal de la soledad y el miedo, y como estos se vuelven contra nosotros.
Es una película de cocción lenta que habla de crecer, del paso de niño a adulto.
Tiene algo de western, algo de drama, algo de terror y algo de thriller. Si estás esperando ver una película sangrienta y de sustos facilones tipo comida rápida, entonces no es para ti. Resulta ser más parecida a una producción de A24 o incluso una de Shyamalan.
Sobre todo es un thriller psicológico que habla sobre los miedos, el aislamiento mental y físico y como el miedo es una emoción oscura que puede hacerte ver tinieblas en todas partes.
Opino que la dirección es espléndida, la historia es delicada y profunda, la música y las interpretaciones son perfectas. No entiendo porqué tantas reviews y críticas hablan sobre "Qué mala es porque tiene un tempo lento y no hay sustos o jumpscares".... Pero amigos, ¿Qué prisa hay? ¿Por qué necesitáis que os asusten todo el rato?

Hay muchos tipos de películas de terror/thriller: lentas y largas, facilonas, de fantasía, extrañas, eróticas....Todos los tipos son buenos y necesarios.
Personalmente prefiero este tipo de películas de terror, no las "rápidas y vacías atracciones de feria" que puedan gustarle a otras personas. Esta me ha dado exactamente lo que buscaba, un cine de calidad y bello, que me haga pensar y reflexionar y un buen mensaje final. Por último puntualizar, que "El Resplandor" fue un fracaso total cuando se estrenó, a nadie le gustó, pero hoy en día es una película de culto. Deberíamos ver el cine con la mirada limpia y aprender a disfrutar cada pedacito de él.

The Wasteland is totally a must see. I loved it. Far from being a simple jump scare product, it explores the sickness of isolation and fear, how this turns against ourselves. It's a slow burn and a coming of age movie. It has a bit of western, bit of drama, bit of horror and bit of thriller. If you are expecting to see a fast-food jumpscare bloody movie, this is not for you. It happens to be more like a A24 production or even Shyamalan one. Mostly it is a psychological thriller that talks about our fears and how the fear it's a dark emotion that could make you see evil everywhere.

I think the direction is amazing, the story is sensitive and deep, the music and performances were perfect. I don't understand why so many reviews are talking about "how bad it is because it has a slow tempo and no jumpscares"...I mean, what's the hurry?? Why do you need to be scared all the time?? There are lots of types of thriller/horror movies; slow long ones, easy ones, fantastic ones, strange ones, erotic ones...All types are good and necessary.
Personally I prefer this kind of horror movies, not the "fast and empty fair attractions" that other people may enjoy. This one gave me exactly what I wanted, good and beautiful cinema, good thinking and good message. Just for you to know, 'The Shinning' was a total failure when it came out, nobody liked it, but nowadays it is a cult film, we should watch movies with clean eyes and learn to enjoy every bit of them.
