A la salida del cine, hablando con los amigos con los que fui a verla, nos miramos un poco extrañados como diciendo "qué acabamos de ver?". Eramos cuatro, dos de nosotros tuvimos una reacción de "bueno... me entretuvo" (la primera hora me volvió loco, pero el resto se puede hacer cuesta arriba), otro dijo "esto es un cero", y el cuarto en discordia se empezó a emocionar por momentos, y he aquí las conclusiones que salieron en este momento y que extenderé en la parte con spoilers: esta película es una burla intencionada hacia la industria del cine, sus clichés y la nostalgia.

En los 20-40 primeros minutos se plantea Matrix como un juego creado por Thomas Anderson, y ante la exigencia de lanzar Matrix IV por parte de Warner Brothers (estoy convencido de que los ejecutivos se quedaron impactados con el trailer pero no se llegaron a ver la peli) se procede a diseccionar lo que hizo grande Matrix (bullet time, acción, rayaduras de cabeza). Como si se pudiese repetir la fórmula agregando los mismos componentes...
Cristina Ricci, si no recuerdo mal, lo verbaliza: "vamos a hacer esto con vosotros o sin vosotros". Aquí Lana Wachowski parece añadir: "Vale, pero os vais a enterar". Entonces es cuando empieza la parodia utilizando todos los clichés de forma autoconsciente:
- El personaje de Bugs. Nada más presentarse dice "me llaman Bugs, porque me gusta Bugs Bunny", y posteriormente cuando Neo despierta le dice "qué hay de nuevo viejo?". Se trata de una frase que no pega para nada en ese momento, pero que es el típico recordatorio estúpido de "eh, acuérdate de por qué me llaman Bugs".
- Los robots cuquis, ya hasta con ojos. Típico personaje semiadorable no humano (animal o androide) que tanto venden en Star Wars, o el habitual robot pequeñito que celebra las victorias.
- Los clichés de películas de diferentes géneros:
1- Peli de atraco a un banco (te contamos el plan mientras ejecutamos el plan).
2- Peli de zombies + Fast and Furious.
3- Peli de acción en la que el bueno es inmune a las balas (Neo literalmente para todo).
Seguramente me dejo muchas más referencias.
- La referencia a los Deus Ex Machina, recurso utilizando en todas las películas en las que el guión acaba siendo perezoso... ¡La película es esto! La resurrección es un Deus Ex Machina (el propio título), la interacción entre Neo y Trinity ("tenéis que estar cerca, pero no tanto") es un Deus Ex Machina. Hasta el sitio donde trabaja Neo se llama Deus Machina.
- Acción cámara en mano. En la Matrix original era todo nítido y las peleas se veían perfectamente. La cámara en mano en momentos de pelea es uno de los peores inventos del cine de acción y aquí recurre a ella de forma recurrente.
- Y lo más importante: es un puñetazo a la nostalgia. No se puede negar que hay un evidente paralelismo entre esta película y la Matrix original (la que creó el culto), y lo hacen evidente y te lo escupen a la cara alternando planos de la presente peli con planos de Matrix.
Por último, hay otra serie de puntos en lo que se enfatiza que la peli no pretende ser una peli seria:
1- El agente Smith llamando Tom a Neo ¿En serio eso no da una pista? ¡¡¡¡¡Es SEÑOR ANDERSON!!!!!
2- La escena final del vuelo, en la que se quedan colgados. Es cutre, no recuerdo si se veían los cables, pero es tan cutre que inconscientemente uno es capaz de dibujarlos.
Mi amigo entusiasta me ha hecho abrir los ojos cual Morfeo ofreciéndome la pastilla roja, y me ha hecho ver que la peli es "pretendidamente" mala, una parodia.
Aunque seguro que se me pasan más detalles que refuerzan esta teoría, me he animado a poner esta crítica (aunque realmente podría ser la de mi amigo) porque creo que la película va a ser muy incomprendida y apaleada. Creo que hay que tratar de verla como es: una broma, y una burla de la industria del cine americano. Lana ha sido muy valiente en animarse a esto, porque creo que su carrera de grandes proyectos puede haber acabado aquí.
En definitiva, una peli que pese a no dar en absoluto lo que esperábamos de ella, con el tiempo será recordada como una obra valiente por su atrevimiento.
