La primera parte trajo consigo un éxito enorme en el publico adolescente. Para esta secuela se eligió trasladar la acción al Japón lugar adonde se origino el karate. En cierta forma la emoción que produce en el espectador es el mismo que en la primera (incluso mejor), gracias a que es una película profundamente ingeniosa, humana, y sincera; posee una increíble banda sonora y muy buenas actuaciones.
