El exorcista ( 1973 ) como la mayoría sabréis está basada en hechos reales. Hay un documental que explica la verdadera historia. Frente al escenario espeluznante que nos presentaban en la primera parte, que no dejó indiferente a nadie en los años 70, se nos presenta esta secuela en el 2023 que es pura ficción, una caricatura de lo que realmente es un exorcismo y todo lo que rodea a esta terrible realidad para los que tenemos fe.
Si estás buscando una película de miedo desempolva de tu videoteca la primera entrega porque aquí no lo vas a encontrar. Esto no es un spin off del Expediente Warren. Es otra historia y hay otra intencionalidad completamente distinta en un mundo de iglesias vacías, donde hasta en las películas de miedo, en líneas generales, Jesús ni es nombrado.

Es curioso como se quitan de en medio lo católico dejándolo en un segundo plano para dar protagonismo a lo pagano y al sincretismo religioso: la unión de todas las religiones conseguirá acabar con el diablo, conseguirá acabar con el mal, dando igual si es con este Dios o con otro. Inexplicablemente los católicos hacen mutis por el foro o se quedan en el coche frente a la casa, y si salen pues se lo quitan de en medio de una manera ridícula en medio de una parafernalia nada ortodoxa.
Además, el agua bendita no tiene ningún relevancia, la cruz menos, sólo sirve para dejar ciega a una de los personajes y ni siquiera se alteran ante la Hostia consagrada porque los nuevos poseídos no se amilanan tan fácilmente ante lo católico.
No es una película verosímil, el guión no tiene consistencia, es en cierto sentido poco trabajado y pulido. Por otro lado, no saben resolver ciertas situaciones como cuando van a la casa de una de las niñas poseídas, el director no sabe dirigir a los actores en este caso, no sabe dónde ubicarlos. Muchas escenas están cogidas con alfileres porque no saben cómo contar lo que quieren contar, y porque son conscientes de que deben andar con pies de plomo para no hacer el ridículo porque la primera parte es imposible de superar.
¿Cuál es el mensaje que quieren transmitir a las nuevas generaciones?. ¿Sincretismo religioso?. ¿Cualquier religión es válida?. ¿El agua bendita y el crucifijo es obsoleto?. ¿Todos de la mano cantando el " we are the world " para vencer al mal?.
Probablemente la mayoría no estéis de acuerdo conmigo. Buscad, si queréis, el documental de la verdadera historia del exorcista y se os pondrá el pelo de punta; después compararlo con esta película. La historia verdadera tiene terror de verdad, como la película. Esta secuela es un puro chiste. En esencia, han deconstruido la franquicia del exorcista.
Es mi opinión, y puedo estar equivocado.
