Refrito del "cuento de navidad" de Dickens orientado a la rehabilitación de un "viva la virgen" encarnado por el insustancial Matthew McConaughey.La historia se deja ver aunque las limitaciones interpretativas del protagonista son más que evidentes llegando en algunos momentos a hacerlo poco creible. Lo mejor es el papel de madurito playboy de Michael Douglas.
