Film noir. Mystery. Thriller
Dave Bannion is an upright but unscrupulous cop on the trail of a vicious gang he suspects holds power over the police force. Bannion is tipped off after a colleague's suicide and his fellow officers' suspicious silence lead him to believe that they are on the gangsters' payroll. Una obra maestra del cine negro. Excelentes interpretaciones por parte de todo el reparto, un buen guión y una genial dirección conforman una película moderna en todos sus aspectos para la época. A la altura de otros clásicos de la época como "El Sueño Eterno" o "El Halcón Maltes". Imprescindible.
