La película realiza una interesante visión de la guerra civil desde el punto de vista republicano. Aparentemente, muestra una actitud pro-socialista (que no pro-republicana, seamos rigurosos con la historia), pero lo cierto es que muestra guiños bastante críticos con la actitud de la izquierda en la guerra.
