In February of 1952, one of the worst storms to ever hit the East Coast struck New England, damaging an oil tanker off the coast of Cape Cod and literally ripping it in half. On a small lifeboat faced with frigid temperatures and 70-foot high waves, four members of the Coast Guard set out to rescue the more than 30 stranded sailors trapped aboard the rapidly-sinking vessel.

Más allá de lo que puede decirse sobre el hecho real en el que se basa, esta justa recreación, lo que me llama la atención es lo bien ejecutado que está en el plano visual, en el acompañamiento de sonido, en el reparto central (convincentes Chris Pine y Casey Affleck) en la excelente fotografía, pero que lastimosamente tiene como único lastre un tópico guión (firma de la productora) y una no más allá de justa dirección, que de seguro en otras manos le habría sentado mucho mejor.

No hay mucho que evaluar ni tampoco denostar, es buena, pero pudo ser mejor.
