During the Great Depression, Lem Tustine (Charles Farrell) is a farmer's son from Minnesota who goes to the Big City, where he falls in love with a waitress named Kate (Mary Duncan), bringing her home to meet the folks. His dad (David Torrence) thinks that she is after Lem's money.
