Synopsis: 5 episodes. Twenty-five years after a peace agreement was reached, this documentary series shares intimate and unpublished testimonies from all sides of the conflict. In 1921, after centuries of disputed British rule, Ireland was divided in two. The south gained independence and Northern Ireland remained within the United Kingdom. Tensions between those loyal to Britain and those who want a united Ireland continue to this day. This is the story of ordinary men, women and children who were drawn, both willingly and unwillingly, into a conflict that lasted three decades. Combining personal testimonies with archival footage, this documentary sheds light on communities who had to live in conflict on a daily basis and still struggle today to maintain a fragile sense of peace.
