Synopsis

Based on true events, it tells how in 2001 the sports manager of the Oakland Athletics baseball team, Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), became famous for achieving great success through the "Moneyball" method, which consisted of planning and building a competitive team with much less financial resources than most Major League teams using statistical methods. Encouraged by his assistant Peter Brand (Jonah Hill), they calculated probabilities of improving the play of their players by coordinating them based on their past data, instead of using them for their type of play and prestige.
