Synopsis: Poochi is an amiable basket seller who lives with his grandson, Kumaresan, in a small hut located on the land of their landlord, Vellaiyan. Kumaresan's parents were killed in a caste riot a few years ago, and now Poochi takes care of the orphaned child, wishing to see him succeed in the future. Therefore, he takes on various jobs to save money and send Kumaresan to a private school. His relationship with one of the landlords in the area, belonging to a higher caste, whom he serves to achieve his goal, will, however, become the source of a conflict that jeopardizes his aspirations.
