Synopsis: In a town where the local women have a history of supporting the soldiers going back to the war– taking care of them and having relationships with them–one of the soldiers is blinded in an explosion. His girlfriend Un Ha is persuaded by her Westernized older sister to abandon him. This brings shame upon the women, so Si Nae steps in and marries him. When Un Ha sees this she deeply regrets her choice and breaks with her sister, swearing to devote the rest of her life to the revolution.
