Synopsis

Yasuko, a dissatisfied housewife struggling to make ends meet, leaves his husband working in Tokyo and returns to her parents' home in Nagano, so the couple can rent their home for the summer and pay the mortage. In Nagano she grows a platonic friendship with Takemura, a mild-mannered war veteran who doesn't work but takes care of his daughter while his wife labors at a nearby resort.
