- Synopsis
- Beneath Camacho’s patient observation of a flamenco workshop in a building that is being squatted, there is a lot more hidden that one might think. Because, in some way, underlying it is the story of the working class roots of the San Luis neighbourhood in Seville, in the remains of what was Sombreros Fernández y Roche, a business that was founded in 1885 and abandoned in 2003. On May 1st, 2008, the neighbours took over the building, in what became more than a symbolic gesture by the community: the conversion of a manufacturing workshop into one filled by flamenco, and ruledover not by a foreman but by the search for and construction of a collective project, not without difficult times, but beneath which one can glimpse another possible world
