Synopsis
Award-winning Canadian filmmaker Tess Girard’s first feature is a meditative and philosophical exploration of rhythm and synchronization about how, at the heart of each of us, lies an almost magical rhythm that seems to influence the world around us. Girard’s complex, artfully constructed and densely layered film creates an immersive experience that can, at times, make the viewer feel almost in situ with the images and sounds on the screen. Interview subjects span a broad range of disciplines—from a musician (Charles Spearin of Broken Social Scene and Do Make Say Think) to a theoretical mathematician; a nurse practitioner and a director of The Global Consciousness Project—but their findings converge on one universal idea: as individuals and as a society, we have a tendency to keep in step.
