Synopsis

During the Crusades, Vercors betroths his beautiful daughter Violaine to Jacques, but she contracts leprosy, which causes Jacques to marry her sister Mara. When their first child dies shortly after birth, Mara begs Violaine to return from her ecclesiastical seclusion to work a miracle and bring her firstborn back to life.
